The Orlando Magic have been dealt their fair share of bad luck at the end of this season. First, they lost starting forward for the remainder of the regular season. Then Ryan Anderson went down for a few games (he is back now). And then Armageddon struck the Orlando Magic. First Team All-NBA, All-World Dwight Howard was lost for the season due to injury. Dwight Howard has been the franchise for nearly a decade, and most of its success has come because of the defensive presence that Howard brings to the game. The team has been forced to move on and try to beat the odds by making a playoff run without their best player. However, Orlando Magic fans just received a small cloud of hope today with the news that one injured starter may be returning for the playoffs. Josh Robbins of The Orlando Sentinel reports that the Magic's Hedo Turkoglu hopes to return in time for the playoffs.

"I'm just trying to get myself into good shape, as much as I can, and hopefully I'll be able to come back and be ready to play," Turkoglu said. "I don't know how ready I will be, but I'm pushing myself to be ready as much as I can. And if I get the opportunity, I will try to go out there and do my best that I can and help the team."

As great as it will be to have an extra body for the playoffs in Turkoglu, don't expect to many things from Turkoglu in the postseason, especially in the first round. Remember last year JJ Redick was supposed to be our savior. But he was not himself returning for a long hiatus. He missed jumper after jumper and ultimately missed a three pointer that would have tied Game 6 and sent it to overtime. If Turkoglu gets back, it will mostly help out Orlando's rotation. The Magic are so decimated by injuries that they are relying on players that have no business competing on a NBA Playoff team. Having Turkoglu back may not offer much in the first round, but if the Magic can get by the Indiana Pacers (if they beat the Charlotte Bobcats tomorrow night), Turkoglu may be able to help the team out in round 2.
