After Jamie Anderson finished her nearly perfect run in the women's inaugural slopestyle event, she almost certainly solidified herself as one of the greatest of her time.

With the gold medal, the US swept gold in the event. Sage Kotsenburg took home the gold in the men's slopestyle event earlier in the games.

"I was really just trying to stay calm and kind of reserve my energy," Anderson said after her gold medal run. "It was a lot of stress up there and even though it's just another competition, the stage and the outreach that this event connects to is out of control."

After crashing in a practice run Wednesday which left her in a bit of pain, Anderson flew through the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park course with ease. Much of the rest of the field looked to struggle on the course.
Following an average first run, Anderson found herself in a hole. The pressure that most competitors might feel seemed to disappear from Anderson as soon as her run started. After putting on a show and landing her final jump, she threw her right hand in the air knowing the gold medal was about to be placed around her neck. It was official after her score of 95.25 was shown.
