The Oakland Raiders were back on the practice field today after an off day yesterday. As they really dived into their preparation for Sunday's match-up with the Indianapolis Colts, the already depleted offensive line took another hit when left tackle Menelik Watson could not complete practice with a knee injury.
The seriousness of the injury in unknown but he was a limited participant in practice, indicating he has a chance to play Sunday. Watson has only played in the final preseason game so he needs as much practice time as possible to acclimate himself into the NFL and offense.
“He tweaked his knee today in practice,” Raiders head coach Dennis Allen said. “I don't know the extent of the injury. We will find that out later.”
Other members of the Raiders unable to practice today include tight end David Ausberry and kicker Sebastian Janikowski. Ausberry has yet to practice since his shoulder injury in the preseason. It would be a surprise if he is able to go Sunday. Janikowski has a calf injury, but will kick Sunday.
