Former Notre Dame baseball standout and current centerfielder for the Arizona Diamondbacks A.J. Pollock has been on the disabled list for two weeks now, and it doesn’t seem like he’ll be returning anytime soon. Pollock, who is hitting .299 with 11 stolen bases this season, has been out since Mother’s Day with a groin injury. Last week Arizona manager Tony Lovullo said that he doesn’t expect Pollock to rejoin the team during the current road trip, which ends this Sunday.

Pollock has been cleared for baseball activity, but still hasn’t seen any game action. The AP reports that Arizona will probably give him another week to recover before they consider activating him from the DL. In the meantime, Pollock’s DBacks haven’t missed a beat. Arizona has gone 12-4 with Pollock on the shelf. They currently stand at 33-22, just a half game out of first place in the ever tough NL West.
