Following his retirement from the NFL as a long-time quarterback, Boomer Esiason has a daily radio program along with Craig Carton known as "Boomer and Carton" on WFAN in New York and he's been known to never shy away from saying what he feels.

Esiason has been extremely criticial of Tim Tebow and felt that he was never meant for NFL success; which he ultimately got right considering he was a left-handed quarterback and knew a thing about it since he was one himself. He's also been very vocal about his love for the Jets, Mets, Knicks and Rangers being a guy from Long Island. He's also been very critical of the Derek Jeter farewell tour too.

During Wednesday's show, which is also simulcasted on the MSG Network, Esiason ripped the Yankees and Jeter for a patch that will be on the team's uniforms for the final month of the season commemorating Jeter's farewell and retirement from the team. Here's a bit from the video posted from above.

"Did they put Martin Brodeur patches on their jerseys? And I know he didn't announce his retirement and he hasn't retired, but everybody knew it was the last year in New Jersey. This is such a cheese-ball move. … It kind of goes against everything (that) Derek Jeter has been."

Maybe Boomer is just jealous that the NFL forced him out and didn't care about his retirement whereas Jeter can leave on his own terms and has the fans showing up to games just to see him one last time. He was also one of the quarterbacks in the NFL to never win a Super Bowl either despite a successful career, so who knows.

Either way, it's pretty clear that the Yankees don't think it's a cheese-ball move, nor does Jeter, who if he thought so, would have told them not to do it.
