Derek Jeter, who grew up Kalamazoo, Michigan, got a great standing ovation from Detroit Tigers fans before his first at-bat for the New York Yankees on Tuesday night in Comerica Park.

Matthew B. Mowery of The Oakland Press shared a video of the nice gesture from the crowd in Detroit:

No. 2 would go on to notch a single shortly after the warm reception in what will be his last game at Comerica Park unless the Yankees meet the Tigers in October.

Jeter was born in New Jersey, but his family moved to Michigan when he was four; however that didn't stop The Captain from being a Yankees fan as a kid.

It was great to see from the Detroit crowd considering the Tigers are trying to stay ahead of the Yankees in the wild card standings and need to win every game against Jeter's team.

Even competition doesn't come before respect for Jeter.

Seeing your team play in the SuperBowl is priceless. Watching the SuperBowl live in the stands for $1 per week is beyond priceless.
