On Thursday, A-Rod accepted the Ice Bucket Challenge that was presented to him and before he completed the challenge, he nominated former Yankees teammate and closer Mariano Rivera, former Yankees teammate and current Seattle Mariners second basemen Robinson Cano, MLB Network and former Mariners player Harold Reynolds among a few other people. Rivera was previously challenged by former Yankee catcher Jorge Posada and Cano was also challenged by Rivera too.
The challenge was completed in the University of Miami baseball team's dugout, which is again where A-Rod has been training during the season while serving a season-long suspension in 2014. The field at the University of Miami is named after A-Rod, who was originally going to attend the college after graduating high school, but was drafted by the Seattle Mariners.
Rodriguez has also been pursuing his MBA degree while down in his hometown along with getting ready for a comeback with the Yankees in 2015. Along with A-Rod, Derek Jeter, CC Sabathia and Shawn Kelley have all completed the ice bucket challenge as well; Jeter's was completed in front of the entire team on Wednesday.
