On Tuesday night, Chase Headley is expected to report to the New York Yankees sometime during the game against the Texas Rangers at Yankee Stadium.

Because he is traveling to get to New York following the trade for Headley on Tuesday, he won't be in the starting lineup for the Yankees when they play the Rangers. Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News posted the lineup with Headley's name on the bench side and not in the lineup.

Zelous Wheeler will play third base for the team tonight while Kelly Johnson will play in right field. Brian McCann will play first base with Mark Teixeira recovering from injury. Yankees manager Joe Girardi said that the plan is to use Headley in the lineup everyday because of the dynamic he brings as a switch hitter who can play both first and third base.

Headley, who was acquired from the San Diego Padres for Yangervis Solarte and Rafael DePaula, was hitting .229 with seven home runs and 32 RBI at the time of the trade, but was hitting .323 in the month of July and had improved his average from .199 to .229, thus why the Yankees had interest in trading for him; interest that started about three weeks ago when the Yankees offense had their struggles.
