On Monday, the starting lineups were announced for each league's squad for the 2014 All Star Game for Tuesday night at Target Field in Minnesota.

For the American League, the lineup is as follows:

  • SS Derek Jeter
  • LF Mike Trout
  • 2B Robinson Cano
  • 1B Miguel Cabrera
  • RF Jose Bautista
  • DH Nelson Cruz
  • CF Adam Jones
  • 3B Josh Donaldson
  • C Salvador Perez
  • P Felix Hernandez

In 83 games, Jeter is hitting .272 with two home runs and 25 RBI through the first half of the Yankees season. Former Yankee and current Seattle Mariners second basemen Robinson Cano will also be starting and for at least one more game, Jeter and Cano will be the second base-shortstop combination on the field, just like they were from 2005-2013 while members of the Yankees.

For the National League, their lineup is as follows:

  • CF Andrew McCutchen
  • RF Yasiel Puig
  • SS Troy Tulowitzki
  • 1B Paul Goldschmidt
  • DH Giancarlo Stanton
  • 3B Aramis Ramirez
  • 2B Chase Utley
  • C Jonathan Lucroy
  • LF Carlos Gomez
  • P Adam Wainwright

For most of the 2014 season, Jeter has hit in the second spot for the Yankees lineup although in the past, Jeter had hit primarily for years in the leadoff spot. On Tuesday night, he'll get one last chance to be the leadoff hitter for the American League team.
