New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter Talks Before First All-Star Game in 1998 (Video) July 10th, 2014 at 4:45 PM

Derek Jeter is now a 14-time All-Star in his last season in Major League Baseball, but it all begin back in 1998 when a young Jeter first represented the New York Yankees in the midsummer classic.
Colorado was the site of the 1998 game and even as a younger player in the game, Jeter sounded wise beyond his years in the interview, which was courtesy of MLB.com:
Jeter talks about his reason for becoming a shortstop and the influence his father had on him. He also gives his opinion on what it takes to win and Jeter's response is more what you'd expect out of a veteran, much less a 24-year-old.
This video and the words in it spoken by Jeter were just one of many early signs the Yankees Captain was going to be great.
