Bleacher Report's Scott Miller tweeted a photo of the ad, which came in a commemorative section of the newspaper, UT-San Diego:

A well-deserved tribute for a great baseball player and an even greater man. The Yanks have been no strangers to remembering Gwynn after his death.
Aside from players on the team talking about him fondly and the ad in that paper, the Yanks also showed Gwynn respect at Yankee Stadium during one of their games.
Mentioning what the Yanks have done isn't a way of patting the team on the back, but rather showing how important Mr. Padre was to the sport as a whole.
Gwynn will be missed.Tags: Baseball, MLB, New York, New York Yankees, San Diego Padres, tony gwynn, ut-san diego, Yankee Stadium
