After being swept at Yankee Stadium by the Seattle Mariners, the New York Yankees finally were able to get their first win on Tuesday night by knocking off Robinson Cano's Mariners 3-2 at Safeco Field.
Vidal Nuno was actually able to give the Yankees a decent outing for the Yankees and got some help from his defense, as his outfield made several great catches; one of which was made by Ichiro Suzuki.
The former and longtime Seattle Mariners outfielder tracked down a drive by Kyle Seager in the bottom of the second inning that would have been an extra-base hit but Ichiro showed why he's still a superior defender in the outfield when he made a great catch to take away a hit.
With Carlos Beltran relegated to DH duties and Alfonso Soriano relegated to playing only against left-handed pitching, Ichiro continues to get more playing time and will continue to give the Yankees this kind of defense in the outfield.
