The insults kept on coming Sunday during the second game of the doubleheader at Yankee Stadium between the New York Yankees and Pittsburgh Pirates, with the Buccos coming out on top in the sloppy contest, 5-3.

If you followed the game, you saw quite the horrid brand of baseball from both teams with errors and base-running mistakes that warranted a criticism or two… or many.

While these Yankee writers were particularly harsh, it was deserved and quite the funny sight to watch the professionals tee-off on what they were watching.

Chad Jennings of summed up the Pirates performance in two simple sentences:

Daniel Barbarisi of the Wall Street Journal wasn't shy in his opinion about where the Buccos would stand if they played in the Yanks' division:

Anthony McCarron of the New York Daily News was worried about missing his favorite TV show in favor of the twin bill. Hasn't he ever heard of DVR?

Kevin Kernan of the New York Post thought Game 2 was worthy of Barnum and Bailey:

Wallace Matthews of is the winner of the "Buccos- Bombers beatdown" with a myriad of tweets that were entertaining to say the least:

The win for the Pirates gave them a split of the doubleheader, but the Yanks got the better of the series overall by winning two out of three in the Bronx.
