As Major League Baseball continues their investigation of a Biogenesis anti-aging clinic in Miami, which reportedly supplied a list of players, headlined by New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, with performance-enhancing drugs, several new names have surfaced in the scandal, including Yankees catcher Francisco Cervelli

Joining Cervelli on the most recent list of possible clients are Milwaukee Brewers star Ryan Braun and Baltimore Orioles infielder Danny Valencia. Braun, who was the National League MVP in 2011, won his appeal of a failed drug test last offseason on a technicality due to the way his sample was handled.

Though Cervelli, as well as A-Rod and others, have not failed a drug test, Major League Baseball could suspend each player proven to have used performance-enhancing drugs. Players are given a 50 game suspension for first-time offenses.

The 26 year-old Cervelli, a fan favorite to many Yankee fans, only appeared in three games with the Yankees last season and spent the rest of the season in the minors. However, with Russell Martin signing with the Pittsburgh Pirates this offseason, Cervelli was expected to compete with rookie Austin Romine and veteran Chris Stewart for New York's catching job.

Cervelli has a .271 career batting average with five home runs in 184 games throughout his five-year career in pinstripes.

Representatives of Cervelli were not available for comment. In addition, the Yankees will not comment until Major League Baseball completes their investigation of the clinic's operator, Anthony Bosch.
