The New York Yankees, led by ace C.C. Sabathia, defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in a 3-0 shut out win on Sunday. Sabathia threw three scoreless innings with two strike outs in his second start of the spring.

Mariano Rivera, Boone Logan, Cory Wade, Clay Rapada, Chase Whitley, and Kevin Whelan, who earned the save, each pitched a scoreless inning. Yankees pitchers only gave up three total hits to Philadelphia on the day.

This was Rivera's spring debut, but the 42 year-old closer looked to be in midseason form, as he got the win and retired all three batters he faced in his perfect inning of work.

Outfielder Chris Dickerson gave the Yankees the lead in the fourth inning with a two-out, two-RBI single that scored Russell Martin and Andruw Jones.

New York scored once more in the seventh, when Justin Maxwell scored on a David Adams ground ball, which was scored an E-5.

Catcher Gustavo Molina was 1-1 on the day with a single, making him a perfect 4-4 this spring in three games played.

The Yankees (5-5) will take on the Houston Astros (4-4) on Monday at 7:05 PM ET. Hiroki Kuroda will be making his second start of the spring for New York
