One offseason topic that is making headlines is Brandon Prust's future (or lack there of) in New York. Prust becomes an unrestricted free-agent on July 1st, and whether or not he and the Rangers will be able to agree on contract terms is up in the air at this point.

Prust became a team- and fan-favorite during the Blueshirts run to the Conference Finals this year, mainly due to his fiery style style on the wing and aggression on the penalty kill. Coach John Tortorella has offered praise for those aspects of Prust's game among others.

It would appear that the team, coach, and Prust himself are striving for a deal that will keep No. 8 in New York next year (and possibly beyond). But, as things sometimes go in contract negotiations, both parties may not be able to settle on agreeable terms.

We at NYRangers101 would absolutely love to see Pruster back in blue in '12/'13. We just can't see his effort and style of play fitting better with any other club in the league.

Here's to hoping.
