Mets 101 Game Preview: Atlanta Braves at New York Mets

The New York Mets (62-71) look to take the rubber game of their series with the Atlanta Braves (69-64) as the two clubs meet Thursday night at Citi Field. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM. The Mets find themselves 13.5 games behind Washington in the NL East and 8.5 games back in the Wild Card standings. Atlanta on the other hand, sits second in the division, 6.5 games out of first and just 1.5 games behind San Francisco for the second NL Wild Card spot.

Jonathon Niese (7-9, 3.47) starts for the Mets, coming off a loss last Wednesday in Los Angeles. Neise has allowed three or fewer earned runs in five of his last seven starts, yet has a record of just 2-5 in those outings.

Mike Minor (5-8, 4.90) has pitched very well in his last two starts, going 1-0 while allowing a combined three runs in 14 2/3 innings. Lifetime, Minor is 4-2 against the Mets with a 4.86 ERA in eleven starts.
