After a thrilling comeback win last night, the New York Mets (49-54) have a chance to pick up their 50th win of the year this evening. The Mets rallied for three runs in the top of the ninth inning against former Met Francisco Rodriguez to beat the Milwaukee Brewers (58-46) 3-2. Lucas Duda played the role of hero last night as his two run homer gave the Mets the lead. The two teams will be back in action tonight, as first pitch at Miller Park is scheduled for 7:10 pm.
The Mets will send lefty Jonathon Niese (5-5, 3.13 ERA) to the mound. Niese struggled in his return from the disabled list on Monday, giving up four runs in six innings to take a loss against the Seattle Mariners. The Brewers will counter with righty Wily Peralta (11-6, 3.58 ERA). Peralta picked up a win in his last outing, tossing seven innings of one run ball to beat the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.
