After getting a strong performance from Jacob deGrom last night, the New York Mets (47-53) managed to even their series with the Seattle Mariners (53-47). The Mariners won the series opener 5-2 on Monday night, while deGrom's gem helped the Mets snap a three game losing streak last night. The two teams will look to grab the rubber game in the matinee finale today. First pitch at Safeco Field is scheduled for 3:40 pm.

The Mets will send 41 year old right hander Bartolo Colon (8-8, 4.12 ERA) to the mound. Colon took a no decision in his last start against the San Diego Padres, allowing four runs in five innings in the series opener Friday night. The Mariners have recalled right hander Taijuan Walker (1-1, 3.60 ERA) from Tacoma to start opposite Colon. Walker is one of Seattle's top young pitching prospects, but has had injury problems slow his first full major league season.
