The New York Mets kicked off a huge series with the Atlanta Braves with a win last night. Ruben Tejada's walk off single in the bottom of the 11th inning helped the Mets (40-49) defeat the Braves (49-40) 4-3, moving the Mets to within nine games of the division leaders. The Mets have now won two games in a row, and will look to make it three in a row as the two teams continue their four game series tonight. First pitch at Citi Field is scheduled for 7:10 pm.

The Mets will send rookie right hander Jacob deGrom (1-5, 3.77 ERA) to the mound tonight. The Braves will counter with All Star right hander Julio Teheran (8-5, 2.29 ERA). Like last night, the pitching matchup is a rematch from the last series. In that game last Wednesday, Teheran pitched seven innings of one run ball to beat the Mets. deGrom took the loss that night after allowing three runs in five innings of work. The Mets are obviously hoping that history doesn't repeat itself tonight.
