After getting some good news on their captain yesterday, the New York Mets will look to finish off their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates with style. The Mets (37-44) won 5-3 over the Pirates (41-40) yesterday after the Pirates won the first two games in the series. The Mets will look to secure a series split in the finale this afternoon. First pitch at PNC Park is scheduled for 1:35 pm.

The Mets will send veteran right hander Bartolo Colon (8-5, 3.67 ERA) to the mound. Colon has been on fire of late and become the staff's most reliable starter. Colon cruised to a victory in his last outing, tossing eight innings of one run ball to beat the Oakland A's 10-1 last Tuesday. The Pirates will counter with right hander Edinson Volquez (5-6, 4.35 ERA). Volquez is also coming off a win in his last outing, holding the Tampa Bay Rays to one run over eight innings on Monday.
