Bartolo Colon (7-5, 3.88) starts for the Mets, coming off a game where he did it all against the Cardinals, one-hitting the Redbirds over eight innings while helping his own cause with a double and a run scored. Lifetime, Colon is 8-6 with a 3.52 ERA in 19 appearances (18 starts) against Oakland.
Former Met top prospect Scott Kazmir (9-2, 2.08) will face his former team for only the second time in his career on Tuesday night. Last season, while with Cleveland, Kazmir tossed six scoreless innings against the Mets and struck out twelve en route to the victory.
- Outfielder Chris Young will face his former team for the first time since signing with the Mets as a free agent last winter. Young's struggles have been well documented during his short stint in Flushing and he's batting just .204 with four homers and 17 RBI this season.
- Josh Donaldson has been powering the A's offense so far this season, leading the ballclub with 18 homers and 56 RBI. He's closely followed by Brandon Moss who ranks second on the team in both categories, with 17 homers and 55 RBI.
