Mets 101's Seven in Seven series returns in 2014 as our gift to you. Each week, the Mets 101 staff will begin a countdown of something related to the New YorkMets ( i.e. best third baseman, worst defeat, etc.). We will begin our countdown on Tuesdays with the number seven and work all the way to number one. Inspired by recent lack events involving the New York Mets, this week’s countdown has little to do with the baseball team itself and instead looks at seven of the most famous celebrity Met fans. Today we take a look at actor Kevin James.

2) Kevin James

One of the most passionate celebrity Mets fans has to be Kevin James. James, who is best known for his work in the television series The King of Queens, has been an avid Mets fan and has been an active Mets fan over the years. James' character in The King of Queens, Doug Heffernan, also lives in Queens and is a die hard Mets fan.

James has made plenty of appearances at Shea Stadium and Citi Field over the years. James routinely has recorded videos for the Mets to pump up the crowd during games, and he is always seen at several games a year. James even named his daughter Shea Noelle James after Shea Stadium, the team's former home.

James' most triumphant moment of Mets' fandom came this summer, when he got to participate in the Taco Bell All Star Legends and Celebrities Softball Game at Citi Field. James got to play on the National League's squad alongside former Mets greats Dwight Gooden, Darryl Strawberry, Mike Piazza, and John Franco. James won the game's MVP award by making a sparkling defensive play and legging out a hustle double capped by a slide into second base.

James also roots for several other New York sports team in earnest. James is also a fan of the New York Jets, the New York Knicks, and the New York Islanders. Although James is also well known for his Jets fan hood, particularly as it translated into several plot points on The King of Queens, he is also an undeniably passionate Mets fan.
