Mets 101's Seven in Seven series returns in 2014 as our gift to you. Each week, the Mets 101 staff will begin a countdown of something related to the New York Mets ( i.e. best third baseman, worst defeat, etc.). We will begin our countdown on Tuesdays with the number seven and work all the way to number one. Inspired by recent lack events involving the New York Mets, this week’s countdown has little to do with the baseball team itself and instead looks at seven of the most famous celebrity Met fans. Today we take a look at actor Tim Robbins.

#3 – Tim Robbins

Born in California but raised in New York City, Tim Robbins is another high profile Mets fan with an impressive Hollywood resume. Best known amongst baseball fans for his role as "Nuke" LaLoosh in 1988's Bull Durham, Robbins met his now ex-wife Susan Serandon on the set of the film and throughout the course of their marriage, she could often be seen at games as well. Other notable acting roles include Shawshank Redemption, The Player and Mystic River.

Robbins has lent his voice to two Mets documentaries, one on the 1969 Mets for SNY and the year-end DVD "The Team. The Time. The 2006 Mets" which chronicled the teams' run to the 2006 NLCS. A lifelong fan, Robbins recounted being at Shea for the decisive game of the 1969 World Series in a 1997 interview with US Weekly:

"Also, my mother, for my 11th birthday, traveled out one morning to Queens to wait on line at Shea Stadium to get me tickets for the World Series. I wound up seeing, on my 11th birthday, the Mets win the World Series. That was one of the greatest things a mother could do for her son."

Robbins ranks high on the list of not only celebrity Mets fans, but is also a huge Rangers fan and is often spotted by MSG cameras taking in a game at the Garden. He also filmed a series of commercials for the Blueshirts and has appeared in celebrity hockey games.
