Mets 101 Game Preview: New York Mets at Atlanta Braves

After a tough loss to the Washington Nationals last night, the New York Mets got little sleep as they flew to Atlanta. The Mets will play a Labor Day matinee against their division rivals, the Atlanta Braves. The series will be the final meeting of the season between the Mets and the National League East leaders, who have split 16 meetings this season. The Mets will send Daisuke Matsuzaka (0-2, 8.68 ERA) to the mound in search of his first win as a Met, while the Braves will counter with lefty Paul Maholm (9-10, 4.37 ERA). First pitch for today's matinee affair is scheduled for 1:10 pm at Turner Field. Here is today's Mets' lineup:

Pre-Game Notes:

  • The Mets will go righty heavy against the left handed Maholm.
  • Wilmer Flores is back in the lineup after a day off today with a demotion in the lineup to seventh.
  • Josh Satin will sub in for Lucas Duda at first base with the lefty Maholm on the mound.
  • The Mets signed veterans Aaron Harang and Cory Wade to Triple-A Las Vegas last night. Both are expected to report to the team for the playoffs and could join the Mets after the playoffs are over.
