The New York Mets (41-51) will try and rebound from a tough loss Friday as they host the Philadelphia Phillies (49-48) Saturday afternoon at Citi Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM. The Phillies crushed Met pitching Friday in a 13-8 rout and the Amazins will hope to get a better effort out of their staff today, as well as improved defense, with several Met errors contributing to Friday's loss.

Mets Starting Lineup

  1. LF Eric Young Jr,
  2. 2B Daniel Murphy
  3. 3B David Wright
  4. RF Marlon Byrd
  5. 1B Josh Satin
  6. CF Juan Lagares
  7. C Anthony Recker
  8. SS Omar Quintanilla
  9. SP Zack Wheeler

Zack Wheeler (3-1, 3.54) will look to make it three in a row after two wins on the Mets last road trip, in which he allowed just two earned runs in a dozen innings of work.

The Phillies will send Cole Hamels (4-11, 4.05) to the hill who has turned things around over the last three weeks after a dreadful start to the season. The Phillies have won in Hamels last four starts, with the southpaw picking up the victory in two of those outings. His last loss came at Citi Field on June 21, allowing four runs in six innings in a 4-3 Met victory.

Pre-Game Notes

  • John Buck will get the day off Saturday after cramping up in the eighth inning of Friday's loss.
