Just in time for the holiday season, Mets 101's Seven in Seven series returns as our gift to you. Each week, the Mets 101 staff will begin a countdown of topics related to the New York Mets (i.e. best third baseman, worst defeat, etc.). We will begin our countdowns with the number seven and work all the way to number one. This week's Seven in Seven list is a jammer, as we will break down the greatest concerts at both Shea Stadium and Citi Field of all time. We continue our countdown with The Who's Shea Stadium performance in 1982.

5. The Who with Clash

Concert Stats: The Who held two back to back shows on October 12 and 13th of 1982 at Shea Stadium. Punk band Clash opened for the legendary British rockers as The Who took part in their last (at the time) tour in the United States.

Analysis: The Who's 1982 tour was one of the band's greatest, and it made a memorable appearance at Shea for two nights in October of 1982. The 1982 tour was the first exclusively American tour for the British band, and they intended to make it their last US tour ever. The stands at Shea were jammed as people flooded in to see the British rockers and their designated successors, opening act Clash. The Who played many of their classic hits in the concerts, like "My Generation", "Baba O'Riley", "Who Are You", and "Pinball Wizard". They also paid tribute to Shea's legendary rock history by covering classic Beatles hits "Twist and Shout" and "I Saw Her Standing There". While they may not have been the most noteworthy performers ever to grace the stage at Shea Stadium, The Who certainly left their mark in Queens.

Check back tomorrow as we continue our Mets 101 Seven in Seven Concert Series!
