Mascot and Cheerleaders

The Knicks currently do not have a mascot, but the team’s original logo in 1946 featured a man referred to as Father Knick. The dance squad of the Knicks, officially called the Knicks City Dancers, is sometimes referred to as “The Rhythm of New York”. The Knicks have had their dance squad for 20 years.

The Knicks City Dancers participate in charity events and can be booked for other events. They also have a summer camp for girls to promote physical activity and get young girls involved in an extra curricular activity. The Knicks also have The Knicks City Kids, which is a dance squad for children of all ages that performs at Madison Square Garden during games. Auditions for the Knicks City Dancers as well as the Knicks City Kids are held every summer.
