Getting into the best, possible physical playing condition seems to be a common theme for the players of the New York Knicks this offseason.

Carmelo Anthony is down about 15 pounds and looks to be in the best shape of his career, J.R. Smith has been seen in the gym and taking his playing career more seriously and Iman Shumpert is getting his legs healthy so he can be a more effective player.

Now it looks like it's Amar'e Stoudemire who has jumped along on the getting themselves into the best shape of their lives train, as Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders reported that he saw Stoudemire in a recent gym and practice session and raved about how great Stoudemire looked in the session.

Stoudemire is in the final year of a five-year, $100 million deal he signed before the 2010-2011 season and has struggled to stay healthy ever since his first year with the Knicks. In his first season in New York, Stoudemire looked to be the all star player worth the contract that came over from the Phoenix Suns. Since then, Stoudemire has barely resembled that player and it's because of the injuries.

With the Knicks shifting over to the triangle offense under head coach Derek Fisher, Stoudemire will be more relied upon to move without the ball and make plays with his feet and his ability, thus, why Stoudemire is getting himself into better shape.

The former first round pick of the 2002 NBA Draft played in 65 games last season for the Knicks and averaged 11.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game in 22.6 minutes; all of which are well below his career averages, so if the Knicks can get the player that resembled the guy they signed almost four years ago, the Knicks will be in better shape for the 2014-2015 season.
