There were probably a lot of things that Carmelo Anthony was offered during his free agency tour. Maybe nothing that he was offered seemed more tabloid worthy than the offer to receive free lap dances if he re-signed with New York. Despite his many offers, Anthony did end up re-signing with the New York Knicks. Apparently the lap dances weren't the reasons because he doesn't seem very interested in the offer.
As a happily married man to a beautiful woman, Carmelo Anthony may never need to get another lap dance in his life. However, that didn't stop New York City strip club Scores from offering him a lifetime's worth of free lap dances in an attempt to entice him to re-sign with the Knicks this summer.
Now, this is not an judgment on strip clubs or lap dances. Getting a lap dance doesn't mean you're cheating on your spouse. However, it's probably fair to assume that no wife wants it nationally publicized that her husband is getting them.
As it turns out, Anthony did re-sign with the New York Knicks. You know what that means. Free lap dances for life! Right? Not so fast.
What did they expect him to say? Of course he's going to deny the desire to use the Scores offer. He's not stupid. There's no reason to go public with any desire to take them up on their promise.
Anthony has a happy home and he wants to keep it that way. That being said, it's TMZ's job to try to get the wrong answer from celebrities. It's their job to get the stories that make headlines.
In the end, it's a non-story. Anthony did a good job of laughing it off and talking about the idea of free pizza over free lap dances now that he plans on remaining in New York for the rest of his career. Smart move, LaLa was definitely listening.
