Tyson Chandler is one of four members of the New York Knicks to win a NBA Championship. Rasheed Wallace won one with the Detroit Pistons in 2004, James White won one with the San Antonio Spurs in 2007, Jason Kidd and Chandler won one with the Dallas Mavericks in 2011. In addition, Chandler is the leader of the Knicks defense. He's become a fan-favorite and respected teammate because of his defensive efforts and athleticism on both ends of the floor. When he speaks, others listen. Now Chandler is calling for the team to show more urgency if they are going to bring a ring back to Madison Square Garden.

Tyson Chandler is credited with anchoring the New York Knicks defense with his hustle and intensity. He's also a vocal leader on and off the court. On the court, he calls out the defensive coverage schemes and constantly communicates with his teammates.

Ian Begley of ESPNNewYork reports Chandler talked to his teammates about staying urgent.

"I was telling them, 'Look, you're not going to have too many times in your career when you can say you have a legitimate shot to win a championship. I only had one time in my career and that was the year we won. And this year, we've got a shot," Chandler said. "When we come back, we've got to let everybody understand that. You don't want to pass up an opportunity like this in your career, because you always look back and wish you could've done things different. As athletes, the worst thing to ever has is regrets."

Chandler's point is valid and should hit home with the veterans of the roster the most. It could be easy for Iman Shumpert and Chris Copeland to imagine themselves having many more shots to win championships. However, players like Marcus Camby, Amare Stoudemire, Carmelo Anthony, Kurt Thomas and J.R. Smith who have spent years trying to get the chance to compete for a title let alone win one should heed Chandler's words.

The window for success in this league is small. It's even smaller for this Knicks roster that is so veteran laden it's nearly void of youth. This could be the last chance for several of the players on this roster to get a championship. Then need to act like it.
