The New York Jets come into there preseason finale a fairly healthy group with players in the middle and bottom of the roster ready to make plays to hopefully make the final cuts in the coming days. Michael Vick started at quarterback against his former club but Mark Sanchez did not do the same for the Eagles against Gang Green.

First Half:

After one play Matt Simms came out with a visor for Michael Vick and would play the rest of the half. LeQuan Lewis picked Matt Barkley in the end zone after the Jets punted on there first drive. On the Eagles next drive Lewis was beat in coverage by Benn for a long touchdown pass from Barkley. He thought he had safety help over the top that was not there, Eagles went up 7-0. Matt Simms to Chris Pantale for 50 yards after Jalen Saunders was tackled for loss as punt returner. The Jets would get down in scoring position but on fourth down Simms overthrew Greg Salas, who was wide open in the end zone. The Eagles added a 54 yard field goal just before half time. Alex Green fumbled with under a minute to go before the half that might have cost him a roster spot. The Eagles add one more chip shot field goal to make it 13-0 at the half.

Second Half:

Tajh Boyd would take the field for the second half at quarterback. He completed a nice pass to Chris Pantale to put the Jets up to there own 45 yard line on the second play of the opening drive. A few plays later a 42 yard bomb to Clyde Gates tipped by a defender netted the Jets there only score of the game. Johnny Patrick blew up a play for a seven yard loss and while got dinged in the head apparently did not suffer a concussion, as the third quarter was in it's waning seconds. Jalen Saunders showed his toughness on a catch when he got his helmet ripped off, which should have netted the Jets a facemask penalty. The Jets second and moslty third team defense gave up three touchdowns in the final quarter and Philly won 37-7. We found out late in the game that all teams will have a 10 man practice squad now with players being eligible for it who have been active up to 32 games over several seasons as before was only six.

For the New York Jets it may not just be about who makes opening day roster but whom of those released will then hopefully clear waivers and be signed back to the now 10 spots available on the practice squad. We could see some draft choices from last year and certainly this past draft be left out in the cold altogether as the cuts come down later today.

Seeing your team play in the SuperBowl is priceless. Watching the SuperBowl live in the stands for $1 per week is beyond priceless.
