On Thursday night, former New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was back in his old building for just the second time since being traded from the Jets when he was in town for the final preseason game for the New England Patriots against the New York Giants.
The first time Revis was back in his old building was last September when Revis was a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played against the Jets back in Week 1 of the 2013 regular season and Thursday was the second time back.
When Revis was asked on Thursday night about what his initial reactions were when he walked back into his old stadium, there weren't too many sentiments or good feelings.
"It's blue and red in here [for the Giants] right now," he said. "It's not green and white [for the Jets]."
Revis then went on further after being asked what was his favorite memories from playing in MetLife Stadium, in which Revis simply said; nothing at all.
"Not really. I only played here for two years in this new stadium," Revis recalled, shorting himself a season since he played there from 2010-12, although the final year was cut short by a knee injury. "Every time I come here it feels like a new feeling. It's a brand new stadium. It is a nice stadium, but it really doesn't [have any memories that stick out]. I've moved on from that situation."
"I played them last year when I was in Tampa. It's football. It doesn't matter if the Monstars are on the schedule. That's just what it is," he said. "It really doesn't matter who is on the schedule and who we play or what team was on before. All that stuff is out the door."
