Earlier today the New York Jets made yet another move to bolster the team as training camp 2014 opens, as the former Eagle/Jaguar, amongst other teams, Jason Babin has become a member of Gang Green. Last season it was expected the Jets would make a move to sign him after he was released by the Eagles since Antwan Barnes had gone down due to injury. Now he is apart of the team after the Jaguars released him due to the youth movement there. Speaking of Barnes he was one of two players placed on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list as camp opened. The other player is right guard Willie Colon which was not unexpected due to his knee injury during organize team activities (OTA's) back in May. Surprisingly the player that filled in for Colon at right guard was Oday Aboushi, so expect to see him on the inside of the line during preseason. To make room for Babin on the 90 man roster, cornerback Lowell Rose was released.
It seems certain that the 2014 New York Jets are a team with more talent all around. Training camp battles will showcase who is ready to step up and whom won't be around during the preseason or make the opening 53 man roster/practice squad. As training camp continues stay tuned to Jets101 for more info on how those battles are progressing and how the team is rounding into shape for the 2014 season starting in September.
