At the conclusion of the 2014 NFL Draft on Saturday the New York Jets, along with the 31 other clubs, went through the process of contacting those who went un-drafted. They signed eight such players to help bring competition during OTA's, mini-camp and training camp in July. Of course these may only be the initial signings and more will come over the next few weeks.
Chad Young (San Diego State): five foot, ten inches tall, weight: 240 pounds <fullback>
Terrence Miller (Arizona): six foot, four inches tall, weight: 234 pounds <tight end>
Brent Qvale (Nebraska): six foot, seven inches tall, weight: 315 pounds <lineman>
Tevon Conard (Saginaw Valley State): six foot, nine inches tall, weight: 320 pounds <tackle>
Anthony Grady (Missouri State): six foot, seven inches tall, weight: 289 pounds <end>
Zach Thompson (Wake Forest): six foot, five inches tall, weight: 265 pounds <end>
Kerry Hyder (Texas Tech): six foot, two inches tall, weight: 280 pounds <lineman>
Steele Divitto (Boston College): six foot, two inches tall, weight: 237 pounds <inside linebacker>
Last season only one of those who went un-drafted but signed with the New York Jets, safety Rontez Miles, saw any game action, and remains with the team, for now. We can hope for at least one such contributor again for 2014, but even if not on the 53 man roster, possibly for the eight man practice squad.Tags: 2014 NFL Draft, Football, New York, New York Jets, NFL, Rontez Miles
