New York Jets inside linebacker Bart Scott isn't worried about the unhappy Jets fans that reigned down verbal abuse on the team before halftime last Thursday. As the Jets entered halftime down 35-3 after an unreal scoring barrage by the New England Patriots in the second quarter, fans let the team know about their disappointment. There's a video floating around with some interesting footage and some interesting language, but Bart Scott doesn't care.
The New York Jets are certainly in line for their fair share of criticism, especially for their latest effort against the New England Patriots on Thanksgiving night. Whether the fans in question had the right to berate the Jets players is a matter of opinion, but Bart Scott doesn't put any stock in their words:
“At the end of the day, if you made it to be able to put an NFL uniform on, then you are one of the best athletes in the world,” Scott told Gary Myers of the Daily News. “The person yelling at you probably was picked last in dodge ball all through high school. So do you care about the opinion of them? No.”
Bart Scott says that he didn't hear the fans during the game. None of the Jets had any real response to the verbal barrage in the video, but you have to think some of those words were heard given the proximity of the fans to the players. Scott insists that it's part of being an NFL player and the reactions – or lack thereof – by the Jets players seem to support that.
