Happy Saturday, New York Giants fans! Big Blue gets a much-needed off day on Saturday — an escape from the head and Tom Coughlin's wrath — so allow us to help you pass some time with the following headlines to enjoy over your morning coffee.

So Far So Good for Giants’ Wilson in First Practice in Pads

The best news for the Giants regarding David Wilson was that there was no news.

The running back practiced Friday with the rest of the team, wearing shoulder pads for the first time this summer, and passed his first test coming off neck surgery.

Wilson, midway through practice, took a handoff from Ryan Nassib and was slammed by safety Cooper Taylor, a head-on collision that running backs don’t look for, except, in this case, with Wilson.

“That felt good,” Wilson said. “I definitely know I’m cleared now.”

Watch a Nervous Victor Cruz Make Emotional Proposal to Longtime Girlfriend

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz recently proposed to his longtime girlfriend Elaina Watley. Now, there’s video of Cruz’s proposal, which came in the middle of a prayer circle at a baby dedication ceremony for the couple’s young daughter.

Cruz, showing nerves that are never present on the football field, is heartfelt and sweet with his proposal, which seemed to catch Watley off-guard. Disappointingly, the Giants’ showman doesn’t break into a celebratory salsa dance after she says “yes.”

Elaina showed off her new ring, as well as a funky bracelet, on Instagram.

Michael Strahan's Path to Hall-of-Fame Started in Houston, TSU

Turn on the television almost any day of the week and watch Houston native Michael Strahan co-hosting Live with Kelly and Michael, contributing to Good Morning America and making his weekly appearance on Fox Sports Sunday during the NFL season.

Life has become an around-the-clock, coast-to-coast adventure for Strahan, the former Texas Southern University All-American whose 15-year career as a defensive end with the New York Giants has led him to the threshold of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Strahan, 42, and six other members of the Class of 2014 will be inducted in Canton, Ohio on Saturday night.

"I normally look back and go, 'How in the hell has this happened?'" Strahan said during a recent break in his busy schedule. "You come to a time when you go, 'How do I deserve this, and why is this happening to me and not somebody else?'

"At some point, though, you have to stop questioning it and just go with it. Life's about unexpected things and how well you respond to them. And this was definitely unexpected."
