Philadelphia Eagles’ LeSean McCoy Laughs at Giants’ Offseason Moves: “What Have They Done?”

In relatively typical fashion, members of the Philadelphia Eagles have spent their offseason concentrating on the New York Giants and what they've done. In recent weeks, we've seen cornerback Brandon Boykin target newly signed Giants cornerback Walter Thurmond and safety Malcolm Jenkins mock Big Blue's inability to protect Eli Manning. Not to be outdone, running back LeSean McCoy, who has a long history of trash talk with the Giants, laughed at Big Blue's offseason moves on Monday, dismissing them as relevant.

“I’m not paying attention to the Giants,” McCoy said. “What have they done? Signed some guys. Big deal.”

Ironically, it was a similar Eagles free agency only a few years ago that coined the name "Dream Team" and, well, we all know how that ended. But it should still come as no surprise that the Eagles can't seem to stop talking about the Giants despite the season still being many months away. It should come as even less of a surprise that McCoy decided it was his turn to jump in.

Dating back to 2011, McCoy has often targeted the Giants with his trash talk, once stirring up a long-running feud with defensive end Osi Umenyiora that continued even into last season. And it was that feud with Osi that led to McCoy being referred to as "Lady Gaga" in the Giants' locker-room. That is, of course, when they aren't referring to him as a Chihuahua.

Fast forward to now and the rivalry is still very much alive. As ridiculous as some of these barbs are — which the Giants have flat-out ignored to this point — it will make for some very entertaining television when the pads are finally put up and these two teams line up across from each other.

Zack Martin is the most likely pick for the Giants at No. 12, according to Jordan Raanan, Newark Star-Ledger. “Word on the street is that the Giants prefer Martin to Lewan.” Eric Ebron is not listed as one of the 10 most likely picks.

On the topic of the draft, I hope this year’s weed guy is Austin-Sefarian Jenkins. Always draft the weed guy.

because both Lewen and Ebron likely won’t be there at 12.

I don’t see how those comments have anything to do with availability. While I agree Lewan very likely won’t be available that has nothing to do with the team reportedly liking Martin better. We both might disagree with their assessment but that doesn’t mean it’s invalid. Also Ebron is no given to be drafted in the top 12. If Tampa and Buffalo don’t draft him he will be available. I think Tampa goes Evans or one of the elite players that falls and Buffalo will determine if he’s available for us.

I have only 1 comment to make for the Eagle front office, it’s coaches, their players and fans. wait for it…wait for it…..1960

I’ve been advocating Martin and it seems like the emerging consensus is either he or Donald if the draft goes according to form and the pick isn’t traded. To my mind, getting a 10-year, “safe” solution on the offensive line is a no-brainer but in any case we should get a quality addition to the team.

The Eagles? Talk means nothing. It would be nice to keep shutting down Shady. But the guy is good. Very good. Better player than analyst though.

As a matter of fact I will be shocked if we don’t come out of this draft with two quality offensive linemen. Add them to Pugh and Schwartz, hope Mosley comes on, hope Beatty can be “adequate” for a year or two, and pick up another pair next year and we’re in business.
