New York Giants’ Will Hill, Marcus Harris Working Hard During Their “Off Time”

2013 was an up and down year for New York Giants safety Will Hill. It was began by serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy, which he eventually admitted was the result of smoking marijuana, and then ended by being arrested for overdue child support. However, it was later revealed that his arrest also involved the odor of marijuana, although no additional charges were filed.

But, in between all of that, Hill shined on the field. And despite missing some time due to suspension, his play yielded him a spot on the Pro Football Focus All-NFC East Team.

Now, with a chance to really shine in 2014, Hill has already gotten back to work. And a recently published Instagram video by Giants wide receiver Marcus Harris (Reserve/Futures) shows just how intensely the youngster is already working in preparation for next season.

For those wondering, the mask being worn is an elevation mask — something recently added to the Giants' training program and a product cornerback Terrell Thomas has raved about.

More importantly than anything else however, is the fact that both Hill and Harris are hard at it. Given Hill's checkered past and recently legal issues, as well as Harris' uncertain future with the team, both players need to come into Organized Team Activities (OTAs) in shape and prepared to contribute. And pre-offseason workouts is certainly the first step in doing exactly that.

More déjà vu … … … as we talk over which of the possible washed up veterans we might sign … I’d like to point out that one of the hallmarks of the 20 year drought was over-paying for players … often ones well past their shelf life. Earl Morrall, Fran Tarkenton, Larry Csonka, Craig Morton … we handed out draft picks like candy to land these “stars”. Only Tarkenton did anything, and it wasn’t much. The currency today is cap space, but the principle is the same.

With Will Hill involved, I assumed the mask had something to do with smokin’ the ganja.
