Not only did the Oakland Raiders suffer a crushing defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon, they also suffered a number of injuries to key players including running back Darren McFadden (hamstring) and quarterback Terrelle Pryor (knee).
Although Pryor didn't return to the game, he dismissed it as a precaution, saying it was merely a result of the score and time left in the contest.
"I have to look at it tomorrow, but it's stable," Pryor said. "Nothing's wobbly or anything like that. It was just precaution. Nine minutes left in the game. We were losing.''
McFadden also seemed dismissive of the severity of his hamstring injury, but wasn't nearly as confident about his status moving forward as was Pryor.
"I'm doing all right, just kind of down about the game. I tweaked my hamstring a little bit, and I'm just trying to ride with it, come in tomorrow and see what the trainers say," McFadden said.
Former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin filled in for Pryor, while Rashad Jennings took over for McFadden. And head coach Dennis Allen says he expects both players to step up if Pryor and McFadden are unable to go on Sunday against the New York Giants.
Both players are expected to undergo additional tests on Monday, which will determine their practice availability.
