"Giants announce they have waived/injured Da'Rel Scott. Likely to sign 1 or 2 of the RBs that worked out today," he tweeted.
Scott was released from the Giants back on October 1 because the Giants signed former Philadelphia Eagles center Dallas Reynolds, who ended up being cut four days later. Due to David Wilson being injured in the Week 5 loss against the Eagles, the Giants needed running back depth, the team quickly re-signed Scott back to the roster on October 7 to help supplement Brandon Jacobs for the game against the Chicago Bears.
Scott ended up hurting his hamstring in the fourth quarter while taking a carry that nearly was for a touchdown, but was hit in the hamstring and had to be helped off the field by the training staff. If Scott ends up clearing waivers, he could likely be headed to season-ending injured reserve from his injuries.
Graziano also mentioned how the team could sign one, potentially two running backs that the team worked out on Tuesday afternoon at practice; some of which include former Giants Danny Ware, Ryan Torain and Jeremy Wright, plus former Browns and Buccaneers veteran Peyton Hillis.
As of right now, rookie Michael Cox is the only healthy running back at practice, as Brandon Jacobs has been out from practice dealing with a sore hamstring, although he is likely to return to practice later in the week and should play for the team on Monday night against the Minnesota Vikings. David Wilson is out for at least 3-4 weeks with a neck injury and Andre Brown is still on temporary-injured reserve recovering from a leg injury.
In five games with the Giants, Scott had 20 carries for 73 yards along with 11 catches for 102 yards and a touchdown in 2013.
