In a recent interview with Muscle & Fitness Magazine, the Giants starting cornerback has admitted since being drafted back in 2011, he has not drank a single drop of alcohol, done any drugs, and has lived a celibate life, which as earned him a very unique nickname from his teammates.
"Yeah, some people call me the black Tim Tebow," he told the magazine, adding: "Yeah, I am a virgin. I’m not ashamed to say that."
Aside from how Amukamara lives his life as professional athlete, which also includes him not eating any kind of fast food or drinking soda because he felt it would interfere and set back his training methods, one thing that got brought up in the interview was the ice tub incident from last summer where defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was shown on a video recorded by Steve Weatherford taking Amukamara on his shoulder and then throwing him into the tub with his teammates cheering him on. Prince mentioned how the video got blown out of proportion and how it wasn't a big of deal as many made i out to be.
"The whole cold tub thing wasn’t just JPP, it was like eight guys. And it definitely was not anything personal. That wasn’t the first time I was in the cold tub, it was just the first time anyone saw it. And what the video doesn’t show is what happened 15-20 seconds after that, which is all of us messing around. JPP is great. I just saw him this morning and he was congratulating me on my engagement because I just engaged this past Friday. So there’s no hard feelings. It wasn’t a personal situation."
Since then, Amukamara said he and JPP have gotten over the whole incident and get along very well as teammates both on and off the field and even said he congratulated him on his recent engagement to his now fiancé , Pilar Davis, a story that Amukamara reflected on in the interview where he met her after the Giants 37-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers at a nightclub and found himself drawn to her after meeting her that night and got encouraged from his teammates to talk to her.
Amukamara and Davis are set to get married shortly after the Super Bowl, which is set to be in his home stadium at MetLife Stadium and a game in which Amukamara hopes his Giants will be playing in this February. However, getting off to an 0-2 start and allowing 77 points in the first two weeks of the season, they have a long way to go before getting to that kind of point. But a Super Bowl trophy would be a nice wedding present for Amukamara to have by the time the wedding bells ring.
