LSU Defensive Tackle Bennie Logan: “I Love the New York Giants”

The New York Giants have several areas of need as they enter free agency and continue to prepare for the NFL Draft, and despite previous investment in several young defensive tackles, they may benefit from adding another. And one potential option could be LSU defensive tackle Bennie Logan, who admitted on Saturday at the NFL Combine that he's a fan of the Giants and defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.

"I'm a Giants fan. I love the Giants," Logan said. "Watching their defensive line…it's just very creative."

Still very raw, Logan is projected to be a mid-round or possibly late-round draft pick, which would allow the Giants to address some of their more serious needs before taking a chance on a project. And although landing in blue is far from a guarantee, General Manager Jerry Reese has a long history of taking fliers out on raw players and projects (see: Jason Pierre-Paul and Adrien Robison).

The Giants currently have four defensive tackles under contract, including Marvin Austin, Linval Joseph, Markus Kuhn and the recently re-signed Shaun Rogers. And given the health concerns surrounding Rogers, it would make sense for the team to add another DT via free agency or the draft.

Logan started 25 of his 30 career games at LSU, and although he's not a household name, he has the potential for a bright future in the NFL and is widely likely by everyone who knows him.

Shame about Star and his heart problems. Even less of a chance Richardson falls to us

Glad we are back on the topic of football. An article about a punk committing attempted murder has less of a relationship to pro football than any article about politics. I hope the kid is sent to Ossining. Next, we will start hearing about how members of the Mara family like to vacation in St. Barts.

Logan’s like a 4th round kinda guy, right? We certainly could do worse … and in many cases we have done worse.

Cant wait to see what Dion Jordan looks like when a team gets him on the Clay Matthews diet

I wonder if Lotulelei will go top 10 or fall. Or will he even get drafted?
I don’t know the extent of his problem.

He’s still on the list of ’100 players who will be gone when we pick at 19′.

Realistically, I think Reese might go BPA at 19. Everyone who might help right away will be (rightfully so) gone. But is there a sleeper anywhere?

    Cone drill coming up.

  7. rlhjr says:

Jordan looks like a natural outside backer. He’s very quick and agile.
Ansa moves well as does lemonier and I think the kid named Bryant.
Both Ansa and Lemonier will be DE’s (IMHO)

We won’t see Floyd either. I guess that is a reason for winning if you’re a player. If the Giants has lost two more games, Reese would have gotten at least two blue chippers. And two more dead weights would have been gone.
    Such is life…………..
