When the New York Giants released their pre-practice injury report on Wednesday, linebacker Michael Boley wasn't on it. However, when the team hit the field, Boley hit the stationary bikes along with the other players who wouldn't practice. Afterwards, it was revealed that he had sat out due to a back issue.

With running back Ahmad Bradshaw dealing with a knee sprain and cornerback Prince Amukamara sitting out due to a "tricky" hamstring injury, the last thing the Giants need is a new injury to their leader at the linebacker position … especially considering week 14 was the first time all season the entire unit was healthy and playing.
In addition to Boley and those previously reported, Jason Pierre-Paul, Hakeem Nicks and Tyler Sash also sat out of practice on Wednesday.
Below is the full Wednesday injury report:
Did not practice: Prince Amukamara (hamstring), Michael Boley (back), Ahmad Bradshaw (knee/foot), Hakeem Nicks (knee), Jason Pierre-Paul (back), Kenny Phillips (knee) and Tyler Sash (hamstring).
Full practice: David Baas (shoulder) and Travis Beckum (knee).

The injury that concerns me the most is Prince. We know Nicks is going to play; JPP will play; Stevie can certainly fill in for Phillips if he is forced to sit out.
With Atlanta’s receivers, the last thing we need is one of our top corners to be on the bench.
I said that a few threads ago. You cannot lose your best corner and not be concerned about it. But they also cannot hurry him back because they will not get through the playoffs without Prince.
Don’t know if this has been posted, but ESPN is reporting that Stevie Brown has been added to the Pro Bowl ballot.
Excellent. He deserves it for sure.
lol…anybody get their email Christmas card from the Giants yet? It was a little painful watching those guys struggle through that.
I thought it was pretty nice seeing that these superb athletes are so awful in another area. Makes you realize, by the way, that they’re all just kids. I would say they were “game” just for the willingness to look pretty bad. My big regret is that we didn’t see the coaches singing a song. That would have been worth paying to get.
losing Prince and being re-introduced to the Jayron (Not Yet Ready for Prime Time Player) Hosely would be cause for sleepless nights
I suspect that Tryon might start if it came to that. And truth be told, Hosley has done FAR better of late. He made some very nice plays against the Saints.
I think we would play Hosley. I think TC rightly or wrongly doesn’t rush his rookies. But given that Hosley now has almost a full season under his belt he’s a better choice than Tyron and I think the coaches will like that too.
I think Hosley might play better as a starter because he’s used to playing outside. Not having Prince would be a big blow but that why Hosley is around. Also White is banged up a bit so they could be a little easier to cover.
We covered them with Webster and ross last year so it’s possible Webster even of this and Hosley at least can hold their own.
Dan, any word on the status of Jacobs’ appeal? Is it likely that he’s successful?
If I had to guess they appeal would not be a release … just the dirtbag Whiners would have to pay him his full salary.
How the heck has Keith Rivers stayed off the injury report for this long?
He’s probably dead.
!!!
LOL!!!
LMAO
David Wilson needs 25 yards to break NFL record for most kick return yards in a season with the kickoff being from the 35 yard line. The kickoff has been from the 35 yard line for the majority of NFL history, with the exception being 1994-2010 when they moved it back to the 30 to add excitement and lessen touchbacks.
Although I’d be willing to bet that there’s been more running backs injured per rushing attempt this year than kick returners per kick return, I think Coughlin won’t let Wilson return this week if Bradshaw can’t go.
Per this, and TOGM’s stat above, you can guess what I think about it.
Give me 35 yards on a play that’s not from scrimmage all day long.
FWIW, I think Wilson will still be returning kicks Sunday. It’s not a lock Bradshaw won’t play, and even if he doesn’t, I think last week showed the Wilson is so dangerous on kick returns that it’s worth leaving him back there even with his touches increasing. Too valuable a weapon to waste.
After last week, he’s also almost guaranteed to draw a kick out of bounds too
You’re right. It’s not often that you see the kicker purposefully kicking away from the kick returner. It happens with punt returners, but not often with kick returners.
Also, you see that other teams are kicking short kicks so that an offensive lineman or Jernigan will field it, and not Wilson, which also helps field position.
I repeat, too dangerous of a weapon to take off the field. Wilson will be out there returning kicks on Sunday. Book it.
Agree. They can always put him and Jernigan back there just for the threat and tell Jernigan to field the kick.
