That negativity continued on Thursday as another eight players missed practice, while the defensive line was uncharacteristically open about their current predicament.

"I'm not having that fun I'm used to," Jason Pierre-Paul said. "I don't have that energy like I had last year. And that goes for the other guys, too. You can see it in their eyes that they're not having fun with the game. They got to find [themselves] and I got to find myself so I'm just looking to find myself."

Defensive captain and fellow defensive end Justin Tuck echoed his teammate's statements about not having fun, but took it a step further. As he did a year ago, Tuck criticized his own play … bluntly. And for the second time in as many seasons, the veteran says he "sucks."

"Let me just say this, I’m not having that much fun, either. When I find out the cause of why I’m not having as much fun, I’ll let you know," Tuck said. "I suck. That’s what I’m going to go back to. Yeah, I suck."

The Giants will look to return to fun, less suckier times this Sunday when they take on the Cleveland Browns.

    Nicks is definitely out Sunday.

And could all these guys shut up already. I don’t care that you think you suck, Justin. Play better. And JPP, if it’s not fun…find something else to pay you the money. Look, I like both guys but enough with all these chirpiness. When did the Giants become the place to go for stupid quotes. Call the Jets if you want stupid quotes. Play the damn game and shut up. No one feels sorry for you.

    Here we go again

That’s just great… first we had Tuck channeling Albert Camus. Now we have Jason Pierre Paul morphing into Jean Paul Sartre.

    Not this again…

All right, at least it’s better sulking than being overly cocky. I just didn’t expect this from the defending Super Bowl champs.

I would like to write something brilliant here, but suddenly I feel the need to walk down the hall and tell my boss that I’m not having any fun at my job. I’m sure that she will give a $hit.

Definitely better self-critical than smug, but this open complaining is getting tiresome.

However, how about Fewell recognizing that his most important players might need someone else blitzing in order to allow the defensive front to find more openings in the blocking scheme? The guy seems to have decided that he has what he needs with four rushers (admittedly, he has cause to worry about his defensive backs but frankly, if you give any NFL quarterback the time we’re giving them, or the openings in the defense for quick-hitters in the seams or deep throws toward Webster that receivers are just killing him on, that QB will beat a pass defense with four Pro Bowlers manning the backfield). he’s wrong. These guys need some help. Last year he “lost” the defensive backs who, in essence, went public with their complaints about his stupid schemes (and the defense played very well from the first game in which those schemes were changed). This year, perhaps, he is on the verge of a bigger loss: the heart of the Giants (along with Eli, Hakeem and Victor). He’d better make adjustments and stop being passive. If you lose, at least do it aggressively.

Boy, listening to Tuck and JPP you would think we were 0-4 instead of 2-2
what’s the issue with these guys?
are they disliking Fewel’s defensive approach much like the 2009 team hated sheridan’s?
does JPP not like all the new attention he’s getting?
    what?

Hi. I’m Justin Tuck, professional football player, All-Pro defensive end and two time Super Bowl champion. And I want to talk to you today about the benefits of Zoloft.

Do you get grumpy? Angry? Tired? I do.

Do you have a problem externalizing your innermost fears and hurts and disappointments? I sure have!

Have you ever had the uncontrollable urge to shove a 350 lb. offensive lineman backwords into an unsuspecting quarterback? Who hasn’t?!

Well I’m here to tell you that all of these antisocial tendencies can be cured, almost instantaneously, by Zoloft, the brand leader in anti-depressants. You too can become a melba-toast eating, overly-emotional, whiny shadow of your former self. Heck, maybe you could start schilling for a certain sandwich chain and intimidating Semitic bald men on commercials for ESPN!

I just turned on NFL network where Faulk, Irvin and Warner are discussing the following topic…”What NFC East team is in the most trouble.”

Okay everyone. Quiz time. Pencils ready (you can tell I’m old)

    The vote?
    2 votes Cowboys…Faulk and Irvin
    1 vote Skins…Warner

    I was actually shocked.

    • Meh, the Giants are banged up and have dropped two games that stung real bad, but at the end of the day we still have Eli Manning leading us and we still have a reputation for turning it on when it counts.

The Cowboys have shown more fundamental flaws than anyone in the division, and it’s fair to wonder whether a rookie QB can overcome the lack of defense that Washington currently has.

At the end of the day, my biggest worry for the Giants it the schedule. But being one game behind Philly with week 17 against Philly, I like the Giants chances. Especially given that Vick is perennially one hit away from a few weeks in street clothes…

Hey.. you know who else sucks… Osi and fewell… so get your **** together,
STFU and play the damn game.
