Player/Coach Quotes:
Tom Coughlin:
“[The Bucs] had a good scheme,” Coughlin said. “They were timely in what they were able to do and they caused pressure on the quarterback. They played well on third down.”
Greg Schiano:
"We’re coming to play the defending Super Bowl champions who are not in a real good mood right now, so we need to bring our best game just to have a chance to win," Schiano said.
Kenny Phillips:
“With this scheme and this defense, it’s rare that we get opportunities to make real big, game-changing plays," Phillips said.
Mike Williams:
“With that front four, you could have a baby playing secondary and it might make the Pro Bowl," Williams said.
Inactives:
New York Giants – Adewale Ojomo, Prince Amukamara, James Brewer, Jerrel Jernigan, Adrien Robinson, Da'Rel Scott
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - E.J. Biggers, Michael Smith, Jeremy Trueblood

First, I’ll never be able to shake the feeling of discomfort and nausea at reading an emoticon in one of Demo’s posts. It was so awkward that I nearly forgot that you decided to take my comments out of context. But then it’s not surprising…you are, after all, incapable of reading more than 6-8 words without crapping yourself, eating a Ring Ding and storm out of the baboon lair you call a office.
Second, what pot shot did I take at Reese here? I said Diehl sucked (he does) and that Reese is likely to continue to abide by his philosophy of developing low round picks along the OL, and acquiring inexpensive veteran talents to bolster and compete with the draft picks, or eclairs. I happen to disagree with this approach, but describing it for what it is isnt a potshot.
Third, I’m pretty sure you just got confused, since the word “potshot” is so similar to “potsticker,” and the thought of food sent you into a semi-orgasmic rage. I understand your limitations, bro. This is a safe place. Don’t feel embarrassed.
That should read “developing mid-to-low round picks…”
1st…happy healthy new year to those who celebrate.
2nd…imo, the running game will determine the outcome of today’s game.
The ability of the Giants offense to sustain one
The ability of the Giants defense to stop Tampa’s
Go Big Blue!

Funny how since Eli first became #1 QB the hurry up has been his best mode of operation. Simply because he has the brains to run it well, and (now) has the weapons to hurt defenses with it.
It is also typical to expect the Giants offensive guru’s to totally ignore this fact.
——
Well, I’d like to bring up a nuance: I’m talking no huddle, not necessarily hurry up. Coughlin has always said he doesn’t want to do hurry up because it could backfire on his defense on short drives.
But, there’s no reason not to keep a defense on the field methodically marching down the field, exploiting matchups!
I get you DIRT. I tend to lump it all into the term hurry up. Bottom line, they should at least give it a chance. Because Eli has the head for it. And it’s better than standing around waiting for a play to come in from the side lines.
That usually nets the offense a delay of game penalty way too many times.
Off topic:
Adrain Peterson is quite simply a watered down knock off version OF GOD
Wearing my red #10 jersey today. Hoping it brings luck to Diehl and no one touches the QB.
Wow, Prince out
We have to be patient, remember he was only hooping last week.
I MEAN “SHE” was only hopping last week. Princess is having “flow” issues.
I think it’s for the best. It’s Week 2 and we’re playing the Buccaneers. It’s not worth the risk of him aggravating the injury and missing even more time.
Excerpted REPOST:
Just like the defensive staff is seemingly ignorant as to what “JPP Unleashed” can do to any offensive unit in the league.
And just in case Kujo and Sam are reading:
I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT A POSITION CHANGE FOR JPP. I AM NOW AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN ADVOCATING MAKING THE OFFENSE ACCOUNT FOR HIS ELEMENTAL TALENT. I DONT CARE IF HE WAS 390, (Actually 280) THE KID MOVES LIKE AN INSECT.
HE CAN BE MOVED BETWEEN DE/DT and LB and simply wreck an OFFENSE.
AND HE WILL FREE UP OTHER DEFENDERS BECAUSE THE OFFENSE HAS TO ACCOUNT FOR HIM. AGAIN, WAKE UP! THE GIANTS WILL BE BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ARE NOW WHEN THEY START THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX.
And that goes for both sides of the ball.
Prince Amukamara will be inactive today.
I’m feeling very confident today. These guys have gotta be angry after last week. Let’s hope their Super Bowl hangover is over.
Thinking we might see a blowout win today fellas!
Man do I really want you to be right. But this team currently as well as past Giant teams have always scared the piss out of me. Seasoned Blue fans will tell you; You simply have no feel as to how they will perform.
Only a few seasons in the 80′s were you pretty sure they were going to whop a team. And even at those times, they started out real slow. The teams in the 2000′s simply are not as dominant (AKA) consistent defensively and running the football.
Oh I certainly agree, but it always seems like the Giants win these types of games (coming off a tough loss) but lose the ones after coming off a big win. For example, if we had beaten Dallas last week, then I would be truly concerned about today.
