Loading ...After holding private workouts for 19 players on Friday, the New York Giants have signed center/guard Scott Wedige and defensive back Terrence Frederick to their practice squad. Both players are rookies with no NFL experience.
Wedige is an undrafted free agent out Northern Illinois who spent training camp with the Arizona Cardinals. He was cut on the final day when the rosters were trimmed from 75 to 53.
Frederick is a defensive back out of Texas A&M that was drafted in the seventh round of this years draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was also released during final cuts.
The moves are expected to be officially announced on Saturday. To accommodate the addition of the two new players, the team must release two players on the practice squad. Don't read to much into these moves, as the Giants will constantly tweak the practice squad, depending on how they want to run the scout team of the upcoming opponent. Presumably, more information will be forthcoming tomorrow as the team officially announces the move.

Watching CFL on NBCSN. Former Giant Joe Burnett is playing for Edminton, and he apparently leads the CFL in picks this season.
No, I’m not suggesting signing him. More like a) I’m watching CFL and b) I’m proud of myself for recognizing him.
I watch the cfl from time to time. I always have the argument with some friends about the best cfl team playing vs. the worst nfl team. I think the worst NFL team would demolish the best cfl team
I remember wanting the Giants to draft Burnett so badly once he slipped to the 4th round and on. I’m glad we didn’t bother, not that the guys we drafted instead (Rhett Bomar & Andre Brown) were much better. The CFL does deliver decent players every now and then though.

The PS has not been updated at giants.com. I wonder who is getting released to make room for those guys. I would guess Collins and probably NE of Broha or Marshall. Pity if it’s either of the DEs
