Cornerback Alfonzo Dennard returned to the practice field Friday, after having missed Thursday's team workout. Dennard, who missed Sunday's game against the Broncos, practiced on a limited basis as the team ran through drills wearing shells and helmets.
While Dennard's return is good news for a secondary that is already dealing with injuries to fellow cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Kyle Arrington, his status for Sunday's game remains uncertain. If he's unable to go, rookie third-round draft pick Logan Ryan will be called on again to assume more of a responsibility on the outside. Ryan filled in admirably against the Broncos, frequently playing man coverage on Eric Decker, while contributing four tackles and picking off an ill-advised throw from Peyton Manning.
In other injury news, right tackle Marcus Cannon, receiver Aaron Dobson, and tight end Michael Hoomanawanui missed consecutive days of work, making them all unlikely to see the field this Sunday.
