There may not be a team more plagued by the injury beg than the New England Patriots. After losing DT Vince Wilfork, LB Jerod Mayo and OT Sebastian Vollmer to season ending injuries, the Patriots lost yet another key piece to the team.
According to Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston, com, DT Tommy Kelly has been placed on injured reserve which ends his season. Kelly looked like he was on his way to recovery after practicing Wednesday and Thursday, however, he did not practice yesterday before the Patriots face the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Already, thin at defensive tackle, the Patriots are now very thin at the position as they have first year player Marcus Fortson, rookies Chris Jones and Joe Vellano, as well as newly acquired DT Isaac Sopoaga.
With the extra roster spot, the Patriots promoted OL Josh Kline from the practice squad and sign him to the active 53-man roster.
