Earlier in the week multiple reports claimed that the New England Patriots would likely get tight end Rob Gronkowski back from injury. Gronkowski has missed the first five weeks of the season as he recovers from back and forearm surgery.

Unfortunately for the Patriots and their fans, is reporting that people within the Patriots organization are less optimistic about Gronkowski being on the field Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

This stems from the fact that Gronkowski has not been cleared to return to the playing field by Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Jesse Jupiter who performed the forearm surgery.

Last night, it was reported by that Gronkowski was slated to return for the Patriots game in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, he was held out longer due to "serious concern" by Gronkowski's family over the bone not being fully healed yet.

If Gronkowski had not opted for surgery last November, then the bone would've healed back to normal and not had the infection that required more surgery later in the year.
